Seasonal Dark Streaks on Mars
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
These dark streaks on Mars, visible near the center of the image, appear seasonally in Martian spring and summer. Scientists hypothesize they are caused by flowing, quickly evaporating water. The streaks fade in winter and reappear the next summer, a clue to their seasonal dependence.
