NGC 4565, also known as the Needle Galaxy, is a spiral galaxy viewed edge-on from Earth. Located in the constellation Coma Berenices, it is a popular target for telescopes. This image reveals its bulging central core, cut by dark dust lanes within its thin galactic plane, and other background galaxies.
