COSMIC MESSAGE
Five days ago, a coronal mass ejection on the Sun threw a cloud of particles toward Earth. Some of them hit our magnetosphere, causing auroras like this one over Grotfjord, Norway. The shimmering green glow is from electrons, protons, and ions striking molecules in Earth's atmosphere.
