COSMIC MESSAGE
By starlight, the Witch Head Nebula, IC 2118, shines in the dark. This eerie visage spans about 50 light-years and is composed of interstellar dust grains reflecting the light of Orion's bright supergiant star Rigel. The blue color of the nebula and the dust surrounding Rigel is caused by the preferential scattering of blue light.
