Moon Meets Jupiter
NASA APOD · Cristian Fattinnanzi
COSMIC MESSAGE
Skygazers saw a close encounter between Jupiter and the Moon in the predawn sky. Europeans could watch Jupiter pass behind the lunar disk, an event called an occultation. This telescopic view from Italy shows Jupiter after it emerged from behind the Moon. All four of Jupiter's large Galilean moons are also visible.
