COSMIC MESSAGE

Airglow is a faint emission of light by Earth's atmosphere, usually difficult to see. When conditions are right, as in this image, it can be observed about 90 kilometers up. These green bands of light are visible between clouds, above the curving Earth, and in front of the stars.
