COSMIC MESSAGE
M7 is an open cluster of about 100 bright blue stars in the tail of Scorpius. It is about 1,000 light-years away and 200 million years old. This deep exposure from Namibia shows the cluster, which is visible to the naked eye in dark skies and was noted by Ptolemy in ancient times.
