The Hubble eXtreme Deep Field, or XDF, is the deepest image of the universe ever taken in visible light. It reveals some of the earliest galaxies, which formed about 13 billion years ago, soon after the universe's dark ages. The Hubble Space Telescope's Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) and its infrared channel were used to capture these ancient structures, offering clues about the early universe.
