In the Center of the Trifid Nebula

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Trifid Nebula, also known as M20, is a star-forming region located toward the constellation Sagittarius. It gets its name from the three prominent dark dust lanes that converge in its center. Clouds of glowing gas mingle with these dust lanes. A single massive star near the center causes much of the nebula's glow, illuminating the surrounding gas.
