Comet McNaught Over Chile
NASA APOD · Stphane Guisard
COSMIC MESSAGE
Comet McNaught, captured above Santiago, Chile, was a very photogenic comet in 2007. After a display in the northern hemisphere, it moved south and developed an unusually long dust tail. This image shows the bright comet dominating the left side, with its tail spreading across the entire frame. The view is from the Andes Mountains, looking west.
