An Atlas V rocket streaks into orbit, carrying the TDRS-K satellite. This is the first of a new generation of Tracking and Data Relay Satellites. These satellites add to NASA's communication constellation, operating from geosynchronous orbit. The launch happened at Kennedy Space Center, captured in a long exposure photograph.
