Our Milky Way Galaxy arcs across the sky next to Roque Cinchado, also known as the Stone Tree. This unusual natural rock formation on Tenerife, one of the Spanish Canary Islands, is a dense plug of volcanic magma. The photo is a panoramic mosaic taken in 2010, with the Teide volcano visible on the far right.
