COSMIC MESSAGE

The Witch's Broom Nebula, NGC 6960, is part of the larger Veil Nebula. This supernova remnant is a cloud of debris from a star that exploded ten thousand years ago. It sits in the constellation Cygnus, about 1,400 light-years from Earth. The filaments glow as the shockwave from the explosion sweeps through interstellar gas.
