Horsehead: A Wider View

This wide perspective of the Horsehead Nebula region combines data from the VISTA telescope and Hubble. Captured at near-infrared wavelengths, the image shows the dusty molecular cloud sprawling across the scene. The frame spans over 10 light-years at the Horsehead's estimated distance of 1,600 light-years. In infrared, you can see through the dust into forming stars.
