NGC 7814: The Little Sombrero in Pegasus

COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 7814, sometimes called the Little Sombrero, is a spiral galaxy seen edge-on in the constellation Pegasus. It resembles the brighter Sombrero Galaxy, M104. Both galaxies have extensive central bulges cut by a thinner disk with dust lanes in silhouette. This image from a ground-based telescope captures NGC 7814 and surrounding Milky Way stars.
