Sharpless 308: Star Bubble

COSMIC MESSAGE
Sharpless 2-308 is a cosmic bubble blown by fast winds from a hot, massive star. It lies about 5,200 light-years away in the constellation Canis Major, the Big Dog. The bubble spans 60 light-years in diameter, covering slightly more of the sky than a Full Moon. The Wolf-Rayet star that created the bubble is the bright one near its center.
