Martian Sunset
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
What would a Martian sunset look like? In 2005, the robotic rover Spirit watched the Sun dip below the distant lip of Gusev crater. Martian dust particles suspended in the thin atmosphere lend the sky a reddish color, but also scatter blue light forward, creating a bluish glow near the setting Sun.
