Wolf-Rayet 104 is a binary star system that creates a giant pinwheel pattern from its energetic winds of gas and dust. One of the stars is a Wolf-Rayet star, a massive star in its final evolutionary stage before a supernova explosion. This system is located about 8,000 light-years away.
