This creative composite image links the Milky Way across both hemispheres. Skies over Chile and the French Alps were photographed six hours apart on the same date. This time difference allowed Earth's rotation to align the galactic plane above both observatories. The result is a seamless, 10,000-kilometer bridge of stars.
