A Full Circle Rainbow over Australia

NASA APOD · Colin Leonhardt (Birdseye View Photography)
COSMIC MESSAGE

From the ground, we usually only see the top portion of a rainbow. However, from the air, the entire 360-degree circle of a rainbow can be visible. This full-circle rainbow was photographed over Cottesloe Beach, Australia, by a helicopter flying between a setting sun and a downpour.
