Aurora on Ice

This expansive fisheye view captures ice and sky from Jökulsárlón Beach in Iceland. Chunks of glacial ice on the black sand glisten under a nearly full moon, which is surrounded by a 22-degree halo. This lunar halo is created by ice crystals in high, thin clouds. Despite the bright moonlight, curtains of aurora still dance through the surreal scene.
