COSMIC MESSAGE

The beautiful blue reflection nebula VdB 31, riding high in the constellation Auriga, reflects the bluish starlight from nearby stars. It shares this celestial still life with the dark, obscuring clouds B26, B27, and B28. These interstellar dust clouds were cataloged by Sidney van den Bergh in 1966 and Edward E. Barnard in 1919.
