Stars at the Galactic Center
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
The center of our Milky Way Galaxy is usually hidden by thick clouds of dust and gas. But the Spitzer Space Telescope's infrared cameras can see through much of this dust. This image is a mosaic of many smaller snapshots. It reveals the crowded, star-filled galactic center, with older, cool stars appearing blue and reddish dust clouds indicating hot, young stars in nurseries.
