COSMIC MESSAGE
Our Sun's light contains nearly every color, but appears brightest in yellow-green. This spectrum, created at the McMath-Pierce Solar Observatory, reveals dark lines where gases on the Sun's surface absorb specific colors of light. These missing colors help astronomers understand the composition of our star.
