COSMIC MESSAGE
The Virgo Cluster contains over a thousand galaxies, making it the closest large galaxy cluster to our Local Group. This wide-field mosaic of telescopic images shows its central region. Faint foreground dust clouds from our own Milky Way galaxy are visible. The cluster's dominant giant elliptical galaxy, M87, is a prominent feature in this view.
