COSMIC MESSAGE
The Trifid Nebula, M20, is a star-forming region in Sagittarius where glowing gas and dust lanes mingle. Its name comes from the three prominent dark dust lanes that converge at its center. Opaque dust mountains are visible on the right, with other dark filaments threaded throughout. A single massive star near the center causes much of the nebula's glow.
