“Hitomi Launches” is copyrighted by F. Scott Porter. NASA has permission to show it and we don't, so it isn't on this card.
See it on NASA's siteJapan launched the Hitomi X-ray satellite on February 17, 2016. The H-IIA rocket carried the observatory from JAXA's Tanegashima Space Center. Hitomi was designed to study extreme cosmic events, from black holes to galaxy clusters, using four X-ray telescopes. Its instruments were sensitive to photon energies from 300 to 600,000 electron volts.
