A Heliopause Electrostatic Rapid Transit System, or HERTS, is a concept being tested for fast travel to the edge of our Solar System. It could reach the heliopause in 10 to 15 years, a trip that took Voyager 1 over 35 years. This advanced electric propulsion system would accelerate a spacecraft to over 100 Astronomical Units.
