Curiosity's Dusty Self

COSMIC MESSAGE
Martian winds cannot blow spacecraft over, but they can lift fine dust particles in planet-wide storms. This self-portrait from the Curiosity rover, taken on sol 2082 (June 15), shows the effects of a dust storm in Gale Crater. The storm reduced sunlight and visibility at the rover's location. The image was made with the Mars Hand Lens Imager, with its mechanical arm edited out of the mosaic.
