COSMIC MESSAGE

This sharp telescopic view shows NGC 3628, a spiral galaxy seen edge-on. Its puffy galactic disk is divided by dark dust lanes, leading some astronomers to call it "The Hamburger Galaxy." This island universe is about 100,000 light-years across and 35 million light-years away in Leo.
