COSMIC MESSAGE

Cosmic rays pass through your body every second, harmlessly. This image from Fermilab's NOvA Far Detector in Minnesota shows streaks of these fast-moving particles, specifically muons. The detector's main purpose is to study neutrinos, not cosmic rays. The image updates every 15 seconds, but only shows a small fraction of the cosmic rays that occur.
