COSMIC MESSAGE

Deep inside the Soul Nebula, dark dust clouds are outlined by bright ridges of glowing gas. This region, IC 1871, is about 25 light-years across. The star-forming complex is 6,500 light-years away in the Perseus spiral arm of the Milky Way, visible in Cassiopeia.
