Welcome to Mars, NASA InSight. This was the first image taken by InSight on Mars, proof that the spacecraft had successfully landed. After a six-month journey, InSight made a dramatic landing yesterday, decelerating from 20,000 km per hour to zero in about seven minutes. It deployed a heat shield, parachute, and rockets to achieve this feat.
