The InSight robotic lander on Mars has a nearly 2-meter long arm with a scoop, grapple, and forearm camera. This arm is deploying a sensitive seismometer, the orange box in the foreground, onto the Martian surface to listen for distant rumblings. The gray dome behind it will serve as the seismometer's protective cover. InSight touched down on Mars in November 2018.
