Arp 188 and the Tadpole's Tail
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
Arp 188, the Tadpole Galaxy, is a disrupted spiral galaxy located 420 million light-years away in the constellation Draco. Its striking tail, about 280,000 light-years long, is filled with massive, bright blue star clusters. This long tail is thought to be the result of a gravitational encounter with a smaller, more compact intruder galaxy.
