COSMIC MESSAGE
The plane of our Milky Way Galaxy runs through this complex skyscape in the constellation Vela. This 200-frame mosaic centers on the glowing filaments of the Vela Supernova Remnant. This is the expanding debris cloud from the death of a massive star, an explosion whose light reached Earth about 11,000 years ago.
