COSMIC MESSAGE
A long, red streak of glowing hydrogen trails behind spiral galaxy D100 as it moves through the Coma Cluster. This gas has been stripped away by ram pressure from the hot gas within the cluster. The outer gas, less gravitationally bound, was removed first, leaving the tail connected to the galaxy's center. This extended gas tail stretches for about 200,000 light-years.
