Sometimes, Saturn appears to vanish when the Moon passes in front of it. This event, known as a lunar occultation, was visible across parts of Earth last month. This image is a composite of the clearest views captured from South Africa. It combines separate exposures of Saturn and the Moon taken in red, green, and blue light.
