COSMIC MESSAGE
These two galaxies, known as The Mice, are pulling each other apart. Each spiral galaxy has passed through the other, drawing out long tails due to strong gravitational tides. This cosmic interaction happens over hundreds of millions of years. They will likely collide repeatedly over the next billion years until they merge.
