COSMIC MESSAGE

M13 is known as the Great Globular Star Cluster in Hercules. It is a ball of hundreds of thousands of stars, crowded into a region 150 light-years across. The cluster lies about 25,000 light-years away. This image data also provides a Color versus Magnitude Diagram, which plots the apparent brightness against color for the stars.
