NASA APOD · Yannick Akar
COSMIC MESSAGE
The Pelican Nebula, also known as IC 5070, is a region of active star formation and evolving gas clouds. This image shows the nebula in light emitted by sulfur, hydrogen, and oxygen, allowing us to study these interactions. Young stars within the nebula energize the surrounding gas, shaping its appearance. It sits next to the North America Nebula, separated by a dark molecular cloud.
