COSMIC MESSAGE

The Lagoon Nebula, M8, is a battleground where new stars are forming amidst gas and dust. Located about 5,000 light-years away in Sagittarius, it's visible even without binoculars. High-energy starlight makes hydrogen, sulfur, and oxygen gases glow, creating the nebula's colors. Dark filaments of dust, formed in the atmospheres of other stars, weave through the glowing gas.
