After sunset on October 3, Jupiter and its four Galilean moons were visible low on the western horizon. This telephoto image also shows our Moon, approaching its first quarter phase. The blend of exposures reveals the Moon's sunlit face and faint earthshine, alongside the gas giant and its large satellites.
