Stars and Dust in Corona Australis
NASA APOD · CHART32 Team
COSMIC MESSAGE
Dust clouds and young, hot stars fill this region in Corona Australis, the Southern Crown, less than 500 light-years away. The dust reflects the blue light from these energetic stars, creating reflection nebulae like NGC 6726, 6727, and IC 4812. These clouds are so dense they block light from more distant stars in our Milky Way.
