Quadrantid Meteors through Orion

NASA APOD · Petr Horálek
COSMIC MESSAGE

These meteor trails appear almost parallel because they originated from the same cosmic debris, all shed by the same object. They trace back to the radiant of the Quadrantid Meteor Shower, a point in the sky that used to be in the constellation Quadrans Muralis. Though the constellation is no longer recognized, the Quadrantids still light up the sky each year, streaking through regions like Orion.
