The HiRISE instrument on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter discovered this unusual hole on Mars' Pavonis Mons volcano in 2011. The hole, about 35 meters across, appears to be an opening to an underground cavern. Part of the cavern's interior is illuminated, revealing its depth.
