The Galactic Center from Radio to X-ray

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

The center of our Milky Way Galaxy, 26,000 light-years away in Sagittarius, glows in every type of light we can see. This image combines high-energy X-ray emission, captured by NASA's Chandra X-Ray Observatory, in green and blue. Low-energy radio emission, from SARAO's MeerKAT telescope array, is shown in red. Just to the right of the colorful central region is Sagittarius A*, the supermassive black hole at our galaxy's heart.
