Pleiades: The Seven Sisters Star Cluster
NASA APOD · Raul Villaverde Fraile
COSMIC MESSAGE
The Pleiades star cluster, also known as the Seven Sisters, is perhaps the most famous cluster in the sky. Its bright stars can be seen without binoculars even from a light-polluted city. With a long exposure from a dark location, the dust cloud surrounding the cluster becomes very evident, covering a sky area several times the size of the full moon.
