NGC 1365 is a barred spiral galaxy, 200,000 light-years across, located 60 million light-years away in the constellation Fornax. This sharp image shows reddish star-forming regions near the ends of its central bar and along the spiral arms. Dark dust lanes cut across the galaxy's bright core.
