Southern Cross over Chilean Volcano
NASA APOD · Tomáš Slovinský
COSMIC MESSAGE
The Southern Cross, a famous constellation, sits just to the left of Chile's erupting Villarrica volcano. From the reddest star, Gacrux, through the brightest, Acrux, your eye points towards the South Celestial Pole. This pole is the point around which all southern stars appear to spin.
